Get SkyBus’s promotional deals in front of each city’s respective audience.

Solution

SkyBus’s brand tone has plenty of room for playfulness. So, in each execution, I added brand flavour to complement SkyBus’s brand personality and make the ads memorable.

Radio ad: AT Hop Card Promotion

Airing across radio stations in Auckland, New Zealand, this SkyBus ad got the word out about their deal with the AT Hop Card (aka the New Zealand version of Myki).

Days before I started with LD Creative, I was given a bit of our clients’ backgrounds and info about this upcoming SkyBus promotion. It didn’t take me long to hear “Hop Card” and whip up “Hop, skip and jump on a SkyBus”.

When it got to my first day, the line was a hit, and I began transforming it into a radio script within the first hour.

By lunch, it was sent off to the client for approval.

And shortly after, it was produced into a radio ad. Just like that. Not bad for my first copy job.

In and around the airport

For the Australian Open, purpose-placed OOH digital billboards in Tullamarine Airport were lit up with SkyBus deals.

Employing an ambush marketing strategy, the ad referenced the tennis to target those flying into Melbourne, who may be interested in or going to the games - alongside an unmissable pun.

Produce monthly content and strategy for SkyBus’s always-on marketing calendar.

Solution

Using their social media channels as a platform to bring their brand to life, we tested ideas and went full-throttle in accentuating the SkyBus brand voice.

I used the content calendar to play into events on and coming up, where a SkyBus might be a handy route for our followers, covering all cities in which SkyBus operates, including the Gold Coast, Byron Bay, Hobart and Auckland, New Zealand.
